Step closer to a true aerobatic icon at the International Sanicole Airshow 2026. In the static display, you will find a beautifully crafted biplane that helped define sport aerobatics in the late 1970s: the Christen Eagle II.
Designed by Frank Christensen and originally offered as a kit, the Eagle II opened the door for passionate pilots to build their own gateway into aerobatic flight. It quickly earned a reputation as a serious performer, standing shoulder to shoulder with the legendary Pitts Special. Compact, powerful, and elegant, its tandem cockpit carries one pilot and one passenger into a world of loops, rolls, and precision flying.
More than 1,000 Christen Eagle IIs took to the skies around the world. The aircraft on display at Sanicole is a fine example from 1987, visiting all the way from Austria. Come admire the craftsmanship, the classic lines, and the spirit of hands-on aviation that made the Christen Eagle II a legend among aerobatic enthusiasts at Hechtel-Eksel in Belgium on 12 & 13 September.
