The Dutch Rush is renowned for its dynamic and meticulously choreographed solo aerobatic displays. Van Houten’s performances are a ballet in the sky, characterized by fluid transitions, perfectly executed figures, and a constant demonstration of the aircraft's incredible capabilities. Spectators can expect to see a repertoire of classic and advanced manoeuvres, including graceful loops, rolls, hammerheads to demonstrate the agility of his aircraft, reaching forces up to 10 times the force of gravity. During sunset, he spices the display up with fireworks fired from his aircraft during these manoeuvres.
The man in the cockpit, Frank “Woody” Van Houten, had an extensive career with the Royal Netherlands Navy flying the Lynx helicopter and the P-3 Orion. Nowadays, he flies celebrities around the world with a Global 6000 business jet. Besides this active career, he is also the founder of Dutch Rush aerobatics, types not usually known for their outstanding aerobatic performance. This has turned him into also a popular international airshow act making his International Sanicole Airshow debut in 2025. He is also a popular inspirational speaker at team building and leadership events.
The Dutch Rush SU‑26MX is the striking single-seat unlimited aerobatic aircraft. Originally built in 1990, this Russian-designed Sukhoi boasts a powerful 430 hp Vedeneyev M14P nine-cylinder radial engine and a symmetrically profiled, composite-reinforced airframe capable of sustaining ±10 G loads. This sleek orange–black “Formula 1 of the sky” delivers jaw-dropping unlimited aerobatic performance enhanced by dramatic smoke effects produced with biodegradable paraffin oil .
