Saab JAS-39 Gripen solo display
Long-time friends of the International Sanicole Airshow, the Czech air force is preparing to wow you with an electrifying aerial spectacle in the Limburg sky, showcasing their incredible skills with their fast and loud frontline fighter: the Saab JAS-39 Gripen solo display.
Since 2005, the Czech Air Force has operated the Saab JAS-39C/D Gripen, a multirole fighter renowned for its versatility, advanced avionics, and impressive maneuverability. The aircraft is the backbone of the 211th Tactical Squadron, based at Čáslav, and serves as the country’s primary air defense platform.
As a key NATO member, the Czech Republic uses the Gripen for a range of missions, including air policing, joint training exercises, and multinational operations. Czech Gripens regularly contribute to the NATO Air Policing mission, safeguarding the skies over the Baltic states and other allied territories. Their ability to swiftly intercept, engage, and neutralize potential aerial threats underscores their crucial role in European security.
The Czech Air Force Solo Display Gripen is one of the most exhilarating air show performances in Europe. Witness the sheer power of the Gripen as it executes high-G maneuvers, showcasing its agility in tight turns and rolls, experience the force of the Gripen’s afterburner as it soars vertically into the sky, and marvel at the aircraft’s ability to maintain stability even at extremely low speeds, demonstrating its remarkable aerodynamics. And be sure to keep an eye out for bright decoy flares throughout the display!
The Solo Display Gripen is not just an air show performance—it is a statement of the Czech Air Force’s dedication to excellence, readiness, and international cooperation so join us in welcoming them on 13 & 14 September at the International Sanicole Airshow at Hechtel-Eksel, Belgium.
