The International Sanicole Airshow 2026 is thrilled to welcome back the flying ambassadors of the Royal Air Force to the skies over Hechtel-Eksel to bring you the Best of British: the legendary RAF Red Arrows.
For over six decades, the Red Arrows have been inspiring millions worldwide. As one of the planet's premier aerobatic display teams, they represent the absolute pinnacle of British aviation. Watch in awe as seven fast, agile BAE Systems Hawk T1 jet trainers fly with absolute pinpoint accuracy. Marvel at their signature trails painting the sky in brilliant red, white, and blue and keep your eyes peeled for trademark manoeuvres like the Tornado, featuring two aircraft barrel-rolling around the main formation!
The Hawk was a major export success and is still operational with many air forces around the world. In the Royal Air Force, it has now been succeeded by a new variant, the Hawk T2 which is slightly larger and more powerful, aside from boasting a major avionics upgrade.
Behind every jaw-dropping formation is an elite team. The 7 world-class display pilots and their commentator, instantly recognizable in their iconic red flight suits, are backed by an extraordinary ground crew known as "The Circus". This dedicated, blue-suited support staff ensures these incredible aircraft are always in prime condition for peak performance.
The Belgian air force still has 2 frontline squadrons who trace their origins to the Royal Air Force during the Second World War. It is therefore wonderful to have these prominent ambassadors of the Royal Air Force joining in the celebration of the Belgian air force’s 80th anniversary.
