Pilatus PC-9M
Are you ready for another debut at the International Sanicole Airshow on 21 & 22 September 2024? This one is very special as it comes from a rather young EU and NATO country, but the skills of its pilots and the high quality of their award-winning solo display with their single-engine turboprop will leave you mesmerized. Join us in welcoming the Slovenian PC-9M Hudournik solo display team over Hechtel-Eksel!
The PC-9M primarily serves as a trainer aircraft for the Slovenian Air Force. It's used to train pilots in basic and advanced flight maneuvers, weapons delivery, and various other aspects of military aviation. Apart from its training role, the PC-9M can also be utilized for light attack and reconnaissance missions if needed, although its primary function remains training. The PC-9M is capable of performing aerobatic maneuvers, making it suitable for training pilots in high-performance flying. It has a modern avionics suite and can simulate various combat scenarios during training exercises. The Slovenian Air Force acquired the Pilatus PC-9M in the early 1990s, following its secession from the former Yugoslavia.
The nine PC-9M aircraft are based at the Cerklje ob Krki Air Base, located in southeastern Slovenia. This base serves as the hub for flight training, maintenance, and operational activities of the Slovenian Air Force.
For years, the Slovenian PC-9M solo display has wowed crowds across Europe, regularly winning awards for best display, thanks to its highly dynamic and precise performance. We are delighted to welcome this team for the first time in Belgium, so you can witness for yourself why they are such a popular airshow act, also thanks to the high professionalism of the Slovenian crews on the ground and in the air.
