Richard Goodwin Jet Pitts S2S
80 years after the introduction after their first operational jet fighters, the British still enjoy strapping jet engines to unlikely stuff. You don’t usually associate jet engines with small, agile aerobatics aircraft, but Rich Goodwin may just change your mind on that, so make sure you don’t miss this one-of-a-kind aircraft during the International Sanicole Airshow on 21 & 22 September at Hechtel-Eksel in Belgium!
Rich is a former Royal Air Force Tornado Pilot and current airline pilot, who just adores tinkering with his Muscle biplane and throwing it around the sky. The Pitts S2S is a worldrenowned unlimited aerobatics aircraft with enormous power and impressive manoeuvrability, which Rich further enhanced with larger ailerons and extra wingsurface for a phenomenal rollrate and improved controllability at slow speeds.
This was not special enough for Rich though, so he decided to attach two small jet engines to the side of the fuselage of his Pitts for additional thrust, something you’ll be able to clearly see when he accelerates vertically or just appears to hang still in the sky. Couple that with the powerful smokesystem and the gorgeous blue paintscheme with his sponsor Aerobytes clearly marked and you know this display will leave a lasting impression.
