The ThunderTigers
Always a special moment at the International Sanicole Airshow that once again should not be missed is the performance of a special quartet: the ThunderTigers.
The strong links between the 31 squadron from Kleine-Brogel and the International Sanicole Airshow became even more apparent in 2005. This was the first appearance of a unique foursome of F-16s, who, with a nod to a world-famous American demonstration team on the same fighter, called themselves the ThunderTigers. They present a combination of tactical manoeuvres and precise formations. All pilots in this formation are active fighter pilots and they bring a very different performance and unique compared to other teams because they have to fit their training into tactical practice missions. Therefore, they should not be missed during the celebration of 50 years of F-16, and 45 years of F-16 in the Belgian Air Force. Even after all this time, they are still the spearhead of the Belgian Air Force.
The Thundertigers will only perform during the Sanicole weekend in 2024, and they are busy preparing their performance to proudly demonstrate the International Sanicole Airshow’s party animal.
