Eurofighter Typhoon
Don't miss the glorious return of the German Armed Forces at the International Sanicole Airshow on 21 &22 September 2024. Indeed, after more than 20 years, they will once again participate with a jet fighter in our flying display injecting a solid dose of high octane: the state-of-the-art Eurofighter.
The Eurofighter, also known as the Typhoon, is the result of a collaboration between Spain, Italy, Great-Britain and Germany to develop a modern fighter aircraft that can handle a variety of challenging missions, and easily switch functions during the mission. This cutting-edge aircraft has since had great success with exports to countries in Europe and the Middle East. Equipped with state-of-the-art avionics, the aircraft develops a power output of some 18 tonnes thanks to the two Eurojet turbofans with very loud afterburners, more than the weight of the aircraft allowing it to accelerate vertically. The delta wing and canard on the nose enable very high attack angles, an important factor in dogfights.
For years, German jet fighter displays were highly exceptional, but fortunately this seems to be changing. At our show, they will proudly present the enormous power and stunning manoeuvrability of their ultramodern flagship, with bonecrushing G-forces up to 9 times the force of gravity. Pilot and aircraft hail from Nörvenich Air Base, home of the 31 Tactical Wing 'Boelcke' near Cologne.
Our easterly neighbours will surely blow you away with their mighty Eurofighter display.
